Woodbine Website Launches Interactive Columns

This news came in to the Harnesslink newsroom inbox early Friday morning, but I ran out of time to throw up a post about it.

On Woodbine’s website they now have a slew of columnists (read bloggers, although they’re not quite hip enough to call it that) reporting on various racing topics.

It will be good to see people leaving comments and communicating with a Racetrack more directly then was previously possible.

I like the fact that the content seems to be more philosophical and fun then simply reporting the facts. Greg Blanchard’s first post follows up on the discussion we had here last week about the internet’s role in harness racing.

Mike Hamilton on the other hand concerns himself with the crucial topic of anagrams in harness racing. Particularly telling:

After unsuccessfully picking against the chalk, it was akin to rubbing salt in my wounds when I fed one online anagram generator with “Hamilton’s pick: Dali” and it came up with, “omit handicap skill”.

Ouch!

It’s a great step forward and we at Harnesslink hope it contributes to some worthwhile online discussion.

You can view all the columns from the main page, and if your interested in starting a blog of your own you can sign up for one free here at Harness Racing Blog by clicking the Create a Blog link at the top right.

Now onto the Anagrams

Harness Racing Blog’s future uncertain: Harness Racing Blog = Archangel Bring Sos. (And how about ‘Cash Ranger Goblins’ which is a much better name for a blog than ‘Harness Racing Blog’)

Cash Ranger Goblin

A Cash Ranger Goblin

If you’re bored here’s the anagram generator. Leave a comment if you find any good ones.
